Three design concepts for bedside tables
Design 1: Perhaps the most dramatic of the three designs this table is made up of solid oak panels joined with distinct ‘v’ grooves with a finish of brushed quarter sawn oak showing a smooth ripple texture. The cabinet has a drawer at the front opened by a finger pull on the underside, the drawer interior will be lined with Cedar of Lebanon. The Cabinet sits on antique brass legs with a shelf in the same scrubbed oak finish.
Design 2: Borrowing from the arts and crafts and Japanese aesthetic this table has exploded through tenon and dovetail jointing. The drawer is operated by an integrated finger pull in a contrasting material. The drawer will be lined with Cedar of Lebanon. This cabinet would look beautiful in cherry or oak, the integrated pull could either have chip carved wood, silk or brass on the interior.
Design 3: A more traditional approach with a mitred from frame holding a drawer and cupboard door. The drawer will operate with a inset circular pull as above and the cabinet with a carved finger groove integrated into the side of the door. The cabinet sits on a plinth which can be in various colours, antique brass, bog oak or painted.
